During a vacation in 2011, photographer Mark Jonathan Davis began capturing images of 1960s apartment signs in Waikiki.  Many of these mid-century buildings had once been motels, with charming names and unique fonts designed to entice vacationing tourists.  Some torn down, some were painted over, but today, more than 50 years later, they recall for us the breezy optimism of post-war Hawaii.
